This International commodities and raw materials firm has a prestigious name in the
marketplace and has long-established relationships with industrial manufacturing
firms around the world.

This position is initially to replace someone going on maternity leave in September and they
want to bring the person on board as soon as possible to provide ample lead time for training.
There is a real potential for this position to become permanent. If you have had 3-6 years of
logistics coordination experience primarily in ocean freight movements, they would like
to talk to you. This is ideal for someone who wants to beat the commute to the airport area.

Responsibilities:

- Monitoring and controlling of import and export shipments of metals
  and chemicals, inclusive of:
- Setting up & maintenance of shipping and database files
- Expediting shipments
- Monitoring the progress of the shipment from the supplier
- Facilitating import and customs clearance via a forwarder and/or
  customs broker
- Ensuring that Customs Entry are accurate
- Setting up delivery from the port to the warehouse or customer
- Invoicing the customer
- Tracking collections
- Submit voluntary tenders to finalize customs entries
- Finalization of shipment files
- Verifying supplier and service provider invoices for payment

- Most of the shipments are ocean imports and then truck delivery from the port to
a warehouse or end customer. There also some air shipments but
mostly imports which are fairly easy to handle. Very few rail
shipments if any. Some hazmat experience would be nice but is not
absolutely necessary. Letter of credit exposure would also be
  useful.

- Downtown Toronto location for east-end residents

- Excellent salary

- Opportunity for eventual permanent position
