Our Client has extensive experience in International Projects Consulting with a wide range of over-sized/over-dimensional
freight movements via rail, seafreight, airfreight and specialized overland. They are seeking a person well-versed in exports
within the projects area; strong letters of credit, negotiation with carriers and overseas agents and the ability to coordinate
the operational aspects of major projects.



- Responsible for the collection, co-ordination and dissemination of all vessel
  and cargo operations information related to contracts and charter/part charter bookings.
- Transmission of chartering instructions to all relevant parties.
  (e.g. Port agents, charterers, shippers, receivers, stevedores road & rail 
  transport systems etc.)
- Co-ordination between Owners/Operators and shippers to ensure the cargo 
  is transported safely, efficiently and delivered on time.
- Solicitation of project cargo movements and brokering same to 
  relevant Owners/Operators etc.
- Monitoring and reporting of key developments in the North American 
  project cargo market and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of competitors’ activities.
- Post fixture problem solving and customer service. 
- Flexibility to accomodate tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Administrative functions incl. preparation of Booking Notes.
- Preparation of Arrival Notices and distribution to shippers and/or Customs Brokers.
- Collection of Original Bills of Lading and related freight payables.
- Co-ordination and arranging of on-carriage with road/rail transport.
- Container Control.
- Preparation of voyage financial statements.
- Rates negotiations with all carriers, preparing quotations
- Supervising and coordinating L/Cs with financial institutions
- Liaison with overseas offices/agents
- Senior troubleshooter for problem-solving with customers/carriers/agents
- Obtaining appropriate embassy and consular documentation



- A Minimum of 3-7 years (+) of International Projects experience in International
  freight forwarding in North America
- Strong knowledge of over-sized/over-dimensional shipments, including
  heavy-lift projects movements
- Excellent general freight forwarding knowledge - primarily exports
- Strong knowledge of letters of credit is helpful
- Proactive in follow up of crucial shipping issues with customers and carriers
