This is a key role in Pricing in Canada for this very well established international freight forwarder.
Responsible for identifying, developing and implementing pricing and yield management policies, programs and strategies on a Regional and National basis.
Advises and supports all stakeholders in the deployment of new products, services, price structures, selling guidelines, and other initiatives aimed at improving overall company profitability; initiatives may be multi-national, cross-functional, and across Business Units.
Sets Published Rates and discount guidelines for Sales to use in setting rates for individual customers; provides analysis and approval of specific rates outside of guidelines.
Designs and develops tools, models, and reports to support Sales and Pricing.
Gathers data in order to determine effectiveness and profitability of pricing strategies and tactics. Identifies opportunities for improving pricing and profitability of existing accounts.
Follows industry developments and competitor pricing strategies that may affect pricing structures, and provides tactical and strategic responses.
Analyzes and recommends appropriate pricing for company products and services by conducting market analysis, competitor analysis, profitability analysis, and revenue simulations; supports Marketing and Finance.
Analyzes and recommends appropriate pricing for company products and services for specific customers by applying guidelines, performing profitability analysis, and suggesting optimal pricing; enforces and interprets pricing policy; works closely with Sales.
Analyzes shipment volume and revenue to determine effectiveness and profitability of pricing strategies. Forecasts volume and revenue to use in financial and operational planning activities. Initiates profitability reports and develops plans to increase profitability and maximize yield.
Analyzes competitor pricing and makes recommendations regarding ways to improve company pricing and profitability. At higher levels, may provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less-experienced pricing professionals.
Must have strong freight forwarding operational and analytical skills
Extensive knowledge of international and domestic logistics
Excellent contacts with carriers and vendors
Heavy Lift, Domestic Trucking Experience
Strong teamwork skills
Fluently Bilingual : English, French
