You are presently in a senior management position with a customs brokerage firm in Ontario.
 
Our client is a dynamic and progressive company with a well-established reputation in the customs
brokerage community. They provide an environment that while relaxed is also challenging and will test
your technical, problem-solving, communications skills and creativity. Working with an Executive
management team, you will have the autonomy and the mandate to develop the customs brokerage
staff and engage in the continuous improvement of internal processes.

They offer their customers a comprehensive menu of integrated Customs Brokerage
services, including Consulting and Compliance and Freight Forwarding.

An excellent compensation package is available to the successful candidate, including relocation assistance,
where applicable.



You will be chiefly involved in analyzing the company's current customs operations and implementing
improvements in the customs operations area in order to provide the most proactive service possible to the
company's broad based customer network in North America.

- Manage the Ontario customs brokerage operations, through middle management direct reports

- In association with other members of the executive team, develop plans for strategic corporate growth

- Lead a large staff through providing people-oriented leadership and succession planning for the future

- Involved in hiring, firing, training and development of staff

- Travel to outlying branches to review and monitor business operations

- Senior trouble-shooter for customers on both sides of the border

- Work closely with Customers and the executive team in creating and executing customer-focused business solutions




- Extensive management experience in Canadian Customs Brokerage is essential

- Experienced in dealing with operational issues and able to analyze problems and devise appropriate solutions in a
  process and customer-driven environment

- Excellent relations with regional Customs officials

- Organized, self-motivated, high-energy and focused on the future

- A blend of Operations, Business Development and strong related IT experience; budgetary and financial experience desired

- An excellent awareness of the marketplace; a strategic thinker able to
  manage the day-to-day operations of a thriving customs broker and cooperatively
  plan and work with senior colleagues in creating and implementing a
  vision for growth for the future

- Open-minded, possessing good listening skills; a self-starter with a proven
  ability to work effectively with and through people; strong people skills

- Able to generate client confidence through developed listening skills and identify sales opportunities

- Able to cultivate strong working relationships with fellow management

- Approachable; as dedicated to the success of his/her subordinates as he/she
  is to achieving the company's objectives

- Good business acumen and judgment, able to conceptualize, implement and execute programs and processes




- Very well-established name, reputation and market profile, stable and expanding
