Manager, Information Technology - Burlington, ON

Our client is seeking a Manager, Information Technology with experience in the Freight Forwarding industry. The corporation is moving to the next generation of TMS software.The legacy system has served them well, but the time has come for an agent of change to assist, guide, recommend, implement and test a state of the art software platform, to meet present and expected growth and customer expectations.

The company has earned a sterling reputation and is known for having well-trained, professional management
and staff, at all levels of the organization. It is also known for its devotion to customer service excellence, accuracy and efficiency.

The Manager must possess skills in organization, teaching, and planning so that they can coordinate with departments to conduct training. These departments may include marketing, operations, finance, sales, and information technology. They will review and prepare documentation, manuals, and brochures on the capabilities and functions of different applications.

He/she will perform trouble-shooting functions, assist users, employees, and clients with any issues they may have. This involves in active listening to determine issues and concerns.

Ideally, you have a strong blend of IT and Freight Forwarding operations knowledge. You also have
the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff and management.

The responsibilities:


• Strong Interpersonal Skills with the ability to render complex subjects in
• Analytical, quantitative and mathematical skills
• Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization; good listener
• Developed Organizational, Planning and Project Management skills
• Technical knowledge of Freight Forwarding Operations in Export and Import
• Experienced in IT system design, data migration, implementation, testing,
  administration and trouble-shooting
• Creative and Innovative in solving user problems and resolving technical issues
• Current experience with cloud computing, cyber data protection and software troubleshooting



The compensation package is negotiable, according to industry experience and qualifications, ranging well into six-figures.
